It has been shown that a variety of people working independently come to better conclusions than the typical group does, because groups suffer from group think syndrome, where one idea becomes dominant, and then everyone jumps on the bandwagon to not be left behind.  Once an idea becomes established in a group it often becomes very hard to change due to the inertia of the trend.  Once leaders have staked their reputations on supporting a certain idea, they are usually very loath to admit that maybe-just maybe-they were wrong, and the theory needs to be revived.  So obviously wrong ideas are propagated decade after decade, due to institutional inertia and pride.

A classic example of this is”the low fat-don´t worry about sugar diet” that has been entrenched into our official health institutions since the late 70s.  The public  (which can think more independently as individuals) has been catching on to the error of this theory since the mid 1990s, but official institutions (locked in their politically correct dogmas) continue to promote the same low fat nonsense.

This is one of the inherent problems with experts.   Not only are they often riven with conflicts of interest, but they also suffer from massive amounts of conformist group think, that so often prevent them from admitting that they are wrong, and then moving on.  Such official institutions often find it hard to admit even the most obvious errors.  And yet the official thinking is that expert institutions should be believed without question.

We physicians with all our training, knowledge and authority often acquire a rather large ego that tends to make it difficult to admit we are wrong. So, here it is. I freely admit to being wrong. As a heart surgeon with 25 years experience, having performed over 5,000 open-heart surgeries, today is my day to right the wrong with medical and scientific fact.

I trained for many years with other prominent physicians labelled “opinion makers.” Bombarded with scientific literature, continually attending education seminars, we opinion makers insisted heart disease resulted from the simple fact of elevated blood cholesterol.

The only accepted therapy was prescribing medications to lower cholesterol and a diet that severely restricted fat intake. The latter of course we insisted would lower cholesterol and heart disease. Deviations from these recommendations were considered heresy and could quite possibly result in malpractice.

It Is Not Working!

These recommendations are no longer scientifically or morally defensible. The discovery a few years ago that inflammation in the artery wall is the real cause of heart disease is slowly leading to a paradigm shift in how heart disease and other chronic ailments will be treated.

The long-established dietary recommendations have created epidemics of obesity and diabetes, the consequences of which dwarf any historical plague in terms of mortality, human suffering and dire economic consequences.

Despite the fact that 25% of the population takes expensive statin medications and despite the fact we have reduced the fat content of our diets, more Americans will die this year of heart disease than ever before.

Statistics from the American Heart Association show that 75 million Americans currently suffer from heart disease, 20 million have diabetes and 57 million have pre-diabetes. These disorders are affecting younger and younger people in greater numbers every year.

Simply stated, without inflammation being present in the body, there is no way that cholesterol would accumulate in the wall of the blood vessel and cause heart disease and strokes. Without inflammation, cholesterol would move freely throughout the body as nature intended. It is inflammation that causes cholesterol to become trapped.

Inflammation is not complicated — it is quite simply your body’s natural defence to a foreign invader such as a bacteria, toxin or virus. The cycle of inflammation is perfect in how it protects your body from these bacterial and viral invaders. However, if we chronically expose the body to injury by toxins or foods the human body was never designed to process,a condition occurs called chronic inflammation. Chronic inflammation is just as harmful as acute inflammation is beneficial.

What thoughtful person would willfully expose himself repeatedly to foods or other substances that are known to cause injury to the body? Well, smokers perhaps, but at least they made that choice willfully.

The rest of us have simply followed the recommended mainstream diet that is low in fat and high in polyunsaturated fats and carbohydrates, not knowing we were causing repeated injury to our blood vessels. This repeated injury creates chronic inflammation leading to heart disease, stroke, diabetes and obesity.

Let me repeat that: The injury and inflammation in our blood vessels is caused by the low fat diet recommended for years by mainstream medicine.

What are the biggest culprits of chronic inflammation? Quite simply, they are the overload of simple, highly processed carbohydrates (sugar, flour and all the products made from them) and the excess consumption of omega-6 vegetable oils like soybean, corn and sunflower that are found in many processed foods.

Take a moment to visualize rubbing a stiff brush repeatedly over soft skin until it becomes quite red and nearly bleeding. you kept this up several times a day, every day for five years. If you could tolerate this painful brushing, you would have a bleeding, swollen infected area that became worse with each repeated injury. This is a good way to visualize the inflammatory process that could be going on in your body right now.

Regardless of where the inflammatory process occurs, externally or internally, it is the same. I have peered inside thousands upon thousands of arteries. A diseased artery looks as if someone took a brush and scrubbed repeatedly against its wall. Several times a day, every day, the foods we eat create small injuries compounding into more injuries, causing the body to respond continuously and appropriately with inflammation.

While we savor the tantalizing taste of a sweet roll, our bodies respond alarmingly as if a foreign invader arrived declaring war. Foods loaded with sugars and simple carbohydrates, or processed with omega-6 oils for long shelf life have been the mainstay of the American diet for six decades. These foods have been slowly poisoning everyone.

How does eating a simple sweet roll create a cascade of inflammation to make you sick?

Imagine spilling syrup on your keyboard and you have a visual of what occurs inside the cell. When we consume simple carbohydrates such as sugar, blood sugar rises rapidly. In response, your pancreas secretes insulin whose primary purpose is to drive sugar into each cell where it is stored for energy. If the cell is full and does not need glucose, it is rejected to avoid extra sugar gumming up the works.

When your full cells reject the extra glucose, blood sugar rises producing more insulin and the glucose converts to stored fat.

What does all this have to do with inflammation? Blood sugar is controlled in a very narrow range. Extra sugar molecules attach to a variety of proteins that in turn injure the blood vessel wall. This repeated injury to the blood vessel wall sets off inflammation. When you spike your blood sugar level several times a day, every day, it is exactly like taking sandpaper to the inside of your delicate blood vessels.

While you may not be able to see it, rest assured it is there. I saw it in over 5,000 surgical patients spanning 25 years who all shared one common denominator — inflammation in their arteries.

Let’s get back to the sweet roll. That innocent looking goody not only contains sugars, it is baked in one of many omega-6 oils such as soybean. Chips and fries are soaked in soybean oil; processed foods are manufactured with omega-6 oils for longer shelf life. While omega-6’s are essential -they are part of every cell membrane controlling what goes in and out of the cell — they must be in the correct balance with omega-3’s.

If the balance shifts by consuming excessive omega-6, the cell membrane produces chemicals called cytokines that directly cause inflammation.

Today’s mainstream American diet has produced an extreme imbalance of these two fats. The ratio of imbalance ranges from 15:1 to as high as 30:1 in favor of omega-6. That’s a tremendous amount of cytokines causing inflammation. In today’s food environment, a 3:1 ratio would be optimal and healthy.

To make matters worse, the excess weight you are carrying from eating these foods creates overloaded fat cells that pour out large quantities of pro-inflammatory chemicals that add to the injury caused by having high blood sugar. The process that began with a sweet roll turns into a vicious cycle over time that creates heart disease, high blood pressure, diabetes and finally, Alzheimer’s disease, as the inflammatory process continues unabated.

There is no escaping the fact that the more we consume prepared and processed foods, the more we trip the inflammation switch little by little each day. The human body cannot process, nor was it designed to consume, foods packed with sugars and soaked in omega-6 oils.

There is but one answer to quieting inflammation, and that is returning to foods closer to their natural state. To build muscle, eat more protein. Choose carbohydrates that are very complex such as colorful fruits and vegetables. Cut down on or eliminate inflammation- causing omega-6 fats like corn and soybean oil and the processed foods that are made from them.

One tablespoon of corn oil contains 7,280 mg of omega-6; soybean contains 6,940 mg. Instead, use olive oil or butter from grass-fed beef.

Animal fats contain less than 20% omega-6 and are much less likely to cause inflammation than the supposedly healthy oils labelled polyunsaturated. Forget the “science” that has been drummed into your head for decades. The science that saturated fat alone causes heart disease is non-existent. The science that saturated fat raises blood cholesterol is also very weak. Since we now know that cholesterol is not the cause of heart disease, the concern about saturated fat is even more absurd today.

The cholesterol theory led to the no-fat, low-fat recommendations that in turn created the very foods now causing an epidemic of inflammation. Mainstream medicine made a terrible mistake when it advised people to avoid saturated fat in favor of foods high in omega-6 fats. We now have an epidemic of arterial inflammation leading to heart disease and other silent killers.

What you can do is choose whole foods your grandmother served and not those your mom turned to as grocery store aisles filled with manufactured foods. By eliminating inflammatory foods and adding essential nutrients from fresh unprocessed food, you will reverse years of damage in your arteries and throughout your body from consuming the typical American diet.

If you need to use high heat cooking or want to fry your foods, regular or light OOs  are better option then CO.   Because of their high smoke point, these oils will stay stable and will not produce compounds that could be harmful for your health. CO  is best used at low to moderately high cooking temperatures.  However, as  for extra virgin and virgin OOs, it is best to avoid heating also  virgin CO  to preserve its  ANTIOXIDANTS.  In my opinion the best option for cooking are ANIMAL FATS OR GHEE, or  to avoid frying and baking at all,  such as Inuits.  Indeed, their  cultural practice is  that  meat of all kinds is generally BOILED…

…I quit counting calories 15 years ago. If you eliminate starches and sugars from your diet it is very difficult to even eat 2000 calories. Back in 1997/98 I was doing a serious Low/No Carb diet and was AMAZED at how easy it was to loose weight. I experimented with calorie intake mid way (4 months) into the diet to see if the theory on the 2000 calories a day was true…NOT!It was difficult, but for 3 weeks I doubled my meal portions. I was eating 4 eggs and 5 strips of bacon for breakfast, then 16 ounces of steak for lunch, and 20 or more ounces of steak for dinner. My lunch and dinner included at least 2 servings of green leafy veggies.  I still lost 1 to 2 pounds a week.  Prior to going low carb I was eating around 1,200 calories a day and the best I could do was maintain weight. To loose weight I had to eat 800 calories or less on the low fat diet.

What was even more amazing is that ALL of my blood work was normal. After 5 straight years of excruciating LOW FAT dieting and extreme exercising I finally found the magic bullet. Eliminate sugars and starches from the diet……NO EXCEPTIONS! Especially grains! Grains go beyond just spiking your sugar/insulin levels. Grains (especially wheat) have hormone mimicking lectins that disrupt nearly every function in your body. Wheat lectin can actually attach itself to the insulin receptors of the fat cells which turns them on as if insulin had attached itself to the receptors. The difference is that wheat lectin doesn’t know when to let go. It can remain attached for several days! This will trigger weight gain and an increase in appetite because the blood sugar your body needs for energy is being stored as fat…

I eat all meats, coconut oil, butter, animal fat, eggs, all non-starchy vegetables, mushrooms, seeds, nuts, plain yoghurt/kefir, berries, and only very occasionally: fruit, dark chocolate, and raw honey. No grains, no legumes (beans, lentils, peanuts), very limited dairy. Basically, I try to eat a hunter/gatherer diet. I also have a tendency to eat most of my food raw and only lightly cook some meat and eggs.

I stopped worrying about calories a long time ago, too. It’s an archaic, ineffective way to try to lose weight, but amazingly, many so-called experts still think high-carb/low-fat plus calorie counting is the only way to diet. Even the word “diet” is misleading, since the real secret to permanent weight loss involves a permanent change of lifestyle.It’s unfortunate that the high-protein/low-carb Atkins-type eating plan you describe still gets a bad rap. He was far ahead of his time but was widely criticized for promoting an “unhealthy” way of eating, even though he proved that eliminating grains and sweets also eliminated many health problems. Actually, you don’t need to totally eliminate grains as long as you don’t crave them and they don’t bother you. An occasional bowl of plain, unsweetened oatmeal or a small serving of brown rice won’t harm most healthy people, but it’s a very good idea to keep all grains and grain products to a once-in-a-while minimum…

…I totally agree that the “toxic twins” fructose and glucose are behind most of the metabolic problems we now see in our patients. We evolved eating very little fructose and even though some carbohydrates–mainly vegetables and fruits, have some health benefits, carbohydrates are not an essential part of our diet because our bodies can make glucose from protein and fat through the process of gluconeogenesis.

In addition to the diseases listed in this article these toxic twins also seem to be driving the increased incidence of a long list of common brain disorders including depression (weight gain type), ADHD, PTSD, eating disorders, anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder, bipolar II, fibromyalgia, irritable bowel syndrome, restless leg syndrome and similar conditions.

We now believe that a single disease process triggered by sugar, HFCS and high glycemic carbohydrates is driving these common conditions. “Something is going on” – it sure is! What happened over the last 30 years? This debate is incomplete without bringing in the fact that 30 years ago wheat was bio-engineered into a new wheat, thankfully made shockingly clear by William Davis. Gingerella, a good source, actually an exceptionally source to understand grains, whole or refined is a book by William Davis, MD titled “Wheat Belly”.  Another poster on here brought my attention to this book.  She said after reading the book she will never eat any kind of wheat again.  I am about half way through the book and am convinced that eliminating wheat, whole or refined, from my diet is the best thing I can do for overall health.  Traditionally people use the term “beer belly”  but it’s wheat that puts the visceral fat on the belly and other internal organs. Wheat is considered responsible for or contributing to many diseases and health issues such as diabetes, arthritis, osteoporosis, acidic PH, insulin resistance, celiac disease, and obesity.

The missing puzzle piece, Gingerella, is that today’s wheat is COMPLETELY different from the wheat that was grown even two generations ago. It has been crossbred, hybridized, manipulated so that it no longer even physically resembles the wheat your grandparents and possibly even your parents ate. Yes, it’s the chemicals and preservatives, but it’s ALSO the deliberate increase in gluten content. In the last 50 years the gluten content of wheat has been increased by 400%. In the last 50 years the incidence of celiac disease has risen by 400%. And that’s not even counting those who have become gluten-intolerant as a result (probably most of us). Coincidence? I don’t believe in coincidences…
On a news report on Sunday, April 29, it stated that a  medical journal now advocates taking not 1, but  2 drugs to control obesity in kids!  It went on to say that obesity in children is almost epidemic and leads to diabetes. While a spokesperson said that a “lifestyle” change could make a difference, he added that it was hard to get kids to do so. He implied it would be easier to take drugs than to eat healthy foods and exercise.Our kids are doomed, unless they have parents, who understand what fast food, candy and soda are doing to their bodies. It is almost impossible to find “healthy” food, because of the introduction of Franken food into our food system.  So the solution? Drugs and more drugs to control exploding bodies. Great for Big Pharma, this opens a whole new market — kids. This situation with our youth is not only disgusting, but terribly sad.


More Military Waste

Military spending has taken on a life of its own.  Military spending essentially now exists to enrich contractors with endlessly inflated cost overruns and padded budgets.  All sense of economy has been lost.  Politicians like it because it pleased contractors, and provides government welfare to districts.  What it does not do is help the nation.  We need simpler, more robust weapons.  This search for the ultimate in complexity only guarantees bloat, fragility, enormous costs (both to build and maintain) and a barely unaffordable usable product.  Here is one example from Mish Shedlock.

“Flying Piano” Costs Pentagon $1.5 Trillion

The Pentagon is about to waste $1.5 trillion, 38% of entire defense budget for a “virtual flying piano“. That may sound preposterous, and it is. Unfortunately, it is also true.

Foreign Policy Magazine discusses the sad saga of The Jet That Ate the Pentagon.

This month, we learned that the Pentagon has increased the price tag for the F-35 by another $289 million — just the latest in a long string of cost increases — and that the program is expected to account for a whopping 38 percent of Pentagon procurement for defense programs, assuming its cost will grow no more.

How bad is it? A review of the F-35’s cost, schedule, and performance — three essential measures of any Pentagon program — shows the problems are fundamental and still growing.

Although the plane was originally billed as a low-cost solution, major cost increases have plagued the program throughout the last decade. Last year, Pentagon leadership told Congress the acquisition price had increased another 16 percent, from $328.3 billion to $379.4 billion for the 2,457 aircraft to be bought. Not to worry, however — they pledged to finally reverse the growth.

The result? This February, the price increased another 4 percent to $395.7 billion and then even further in April. Don’t expect the cost overruns to end there: The test program is only 20 percent complete, the Government Accountability Office has reported, and the toughest tests are yet to come. Overall, the program’s cost has grown 75 percent from its original 2001 estimate of $226.5 billion — and that was for a larger buy of 2,866 aircraft.

The total program unit cost for each individual F-35, now at $161 million, is only a temporary plateau. Expect yet another increase in early 2013, when a new round of budget restrictions is sure to hit the Pentagon, and the F-35 will take more hits in the form of reducing the numbers to be bought, thereby increasing the unit cost of each plane.

A final note on expense: The F-35 will actually cost multiples of the $395.7 billion cited above. That is the current estimate only to acquire it, not the full life-cycle cost to operate it. The current appraisal for operations and support is $1.1 trillion — making for a grand total of $1.5 trillion, or more than the annual GDP of Spain. And that estimate is wildly optimistic: It assumes the F-35 will only be 42 percent more expensive to operate than an F-16, but the F-35 is much more complex.

The F-35 isn’t only expensive — it’s way behind schedule. The first plan was to have an initial batch of F-35s available for combat in 2010. Then first deployment was to be 2012. More recently, the military services have said the deployment date is “to be determined.” A new target date of 2019 has been informally suggested in testimony — almost 10 years late…

In general, states where defense contractors are located, states that will house or train the pilots want the jobs support the F-35. Those states, and politicians in those states do not give a rat’s ass about how inept or costly the program is.

Failed Equipment, Flawed Designs Plague Lockheed Littoral Combat Ship



POGO sent a letter today to the Senate and House Armed Services Committees recommending that an expensive and severely flawed variant of the Littoral Combat Ship program be eliminated. The letter comes on the heels of POGO’s release of Navy documents revealing serious cracking and corrosion problems with the ship–along with evidence of dangerous equipment failures.

The Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) is a surface vessel commissioned to operate close to shore. It’s supposed to be the jaguar of Navy ships: fast and agile, with the flexibility to both engage in surface combat with modern-day pirates, and also take down submarines and mines. There are two variants of the LCS: one built by a team led by General Dynamics, which will cost $345.8 million per ship; and the other built by a team led by Lockheed Martin, which will cost $357.5 million per ship.

As we’ve reported, The General Dynamics LCS has some problems with corrosion. But the Lockheed Martin version can hardly even make it out of the harbor. As we wrote in our letter, POGO has obtained a number of documents showing that Lockheed Martin’s USS Freedom has been “plagued by flawed designs and failed equipment since being commissioned, has at least 17 known cracks, and has repeatedly been beset by engine-related failures.”

These are serious problems. “What the documents show is grounds for questioning this LCS variant’s viability,” says POGO National Security Investigator Ben Freeman. A source close to the program, who blamed the Navy’s Quality Assurance for accepting such a flawed ship, told POGO that this ship is “not fit for combat and should only be used for training [at most].”

In the letter, POGO pointed out that “from the time the Navy accepted LCS from Lockheed Martin on September 18, 2008, until the ship went into dry dock in the summer of 2011—not even 1,000 days later—there were 640 chargeable equipment failures on the ship. On average then, something on the ship failed on two out of every three days.”

According to the documents POGO obtained, in one particularly dangerous example, the ship was involved in counter-drug trafficking operations—which included detaining suspected drug smugglers—when the electricity on the entire ship went out, leaving it temporarily adrift. If this had occurred during combat, this mishap could very well have been fatal.

Imagine if you had to fly on a commercial jet that had equipment failures (like power outages!) most of the time. Not only would you be rightfully concerned for your safety—but how on earth would you get anywhere on time?

Well, the reality is that USS Freedom doesn’t—after more than six months in port, the ship has only been out to sea twice this year, and during both trips the engines and other key equipment failed. This is a far cry from what the Navy has been telling taxpayers: it’s claimed to Congress that both variants of the LCS are performing well.

It’s time for the Navy to fess up that this ship is nothing but a busted, leaky boat with a history of design and equipment failures. With the LCS program expected to cost taxpayers $120 billion, it simply doesn’t make sense to keep this unnecessary vessel.

New attacks against the internet, free speech and comon sense

It is as old as human civilization for certain organized groups to monopolize an industry instead of having to compete.  Whether it is a guild, union, mafia, association, cartel, band, gang, sect, etc., it sets up the system to keep out competition, keep prices high, and customers captive.  The AMA is just such a group.  The medical system is riddled with cartels and other non competitive arrangements.  Alternative health practices are suppressed, because they threaten the monopoly.

Health blogger threatened with jail time for advocating Paleo diet that cured his diabetes

(NaturalNews) Internet free speech is under assault in America, and a dangerous new trend has surfaced that threatens to throw nutritional bloggers in jail for advocating healthy diets on their blogs or websites. As you read this, a blogger who wrote about using the Paleo diet to overcome diabetes is being threatened with jail time in North Carolina, where the state Board of Dietetics / Nutrition claims his nutritional advocacy is equivalent to the crime of “practicing nutrition without a license.”

His name is Steve Cooksey, and his website is

He’s being targeted by state “dieticians” (which is another word for “nutritional moron” as you’ll see below) who say that Chapter 90, Article 25 of the North Carolina General Statutes makes it a misdemeanor to “practice dietetics or nutrition.” His website’s advocating of the Paleo diet for individuals who have health challenges is, they claim, a violation of law.

So they’ve threatened him with arrest if he does not take down his website… or at the very least stop advocating the Paleo diet to readers.

Criminalizing health advice

But wait a second. People give nutritional advice on their websites all the time. Millions of websites and blogs, in fact, currently offer advice on fitness, nutrition, disease prevention, natural remedies and more. Are all those people now criminals if they live in North Carolina?

And even worse, could this censorship insanity spread to other states? Might such censorship be pursued at a federal level?

Truth is, such an effort has already taken place. I don’t recall who was behind it, but nearly a decade ago, several U.S. Senators got together and tried to push a bill that would make it a federal crime to offer health advice on the internet. That effort failed, and we never heard anything more about it. But now that the U.S. government has crossed what I call the “threshold of criminality” and has devolved into a police state gang of total thugs (TSA, anyway?), it’s not hard to imagine these people trying to bring back their loony ideas of criminalizing health advice on the web.

The point behind all this, of course, would be to monopolize information while silencing those who freely share the truth about natural cures, vitamin D, cancer prevention and so on. The truth about nutrition quite obviously threatens the power and profits of the pharmaceutical industry — an industry that thrives on nutritional ignorance and highly deceptive marketing of its poisons to the uninformed masses. In North Carolina, monopolistic thuggery and oppression of Free Speech is making the state look pretty ugly from a liberty perspective. As reported in the Carolina Journal: (…)

“Unless Cooksey completely rewrites his 3-year-old blog, he could be sued by the licensing board. If he loses the lawsuit and refuses to take down the blog, he could face up to 120 days in jail. The board’s director says Cooksey has a First Amendment right to blog about his diet, but he can’t encourage others to adopt it unless the state has certified him as a dietitian or nutritionist.”

The key here is found in the phrase, “…can’t encourage others.” Thus, the mere “encouraging” of someone to eat something healthy is now considered a crime in North Carolina.

Thus, the sentence, “Eat more vegetables and less meat” can suddenly land you in jail. Or posting a blog that includes, “You will be healthier if you drink fresh raw veggie juice each day” suddenly turns you into a criminal.

The purpose of licensing boards is to enforce intellectual monopolies

This all comes from the bewildering brain of one Charla Burill, the director of the North Carolina Board of Dietetics & Nutrition. Like all state licensing boards, the purpose of this board is to create a state-run monopoly over a group of professionals. And like any group, it wants to criminalize anyone it can’t control. This is why state medical boards that license M.D.s are also in the business of criminalizing herbal medicine, chiropractic medicine and other forms of therapy they cannot control.

Licensing boards have a poor track record of respecting freedom. In Texas, for example, the medical board has long sought to criminalize cancer research pioneer Dr. Stanislawy Burzynski whose innovative methods have saved countless cancer patients. ( Other medical licensing boards around the nation routinely attack and criminalize naturopaths and Chinese Medicine practitioners.

So it’s not necessarily a surprise that North Carolina’s Board of Dietetics / Nutrition wants to criminalize those it cannot control through its licensing monopoly.

What other speech might soon be criminalized?

Charla Burill is a tyrant much like any other government tyrant we’ve seen in recent history. She wants to strip private citizens of their First Amendment rights in order to subject them to the onerous licensing requirements (and legal jurisdiction) of the board she controls. This is a blatant and outrageous violation of the fundamental right to Free Speech. And if it is allowed to stand, where else might it lead?

If a person can be criminalized for advocating a specific diet or nutritional approach on a website, then couldn’t the same warped logic be used to criminalize anyone offering relationship advice? Or mental health advice? Financial advice? Political advice? Pet care advice? Advice for raising children?

I supposed in the mind of people like Charla Burill, the state should be in charge of licensing and controlling every single expression of speech on the internet. If you talk about pet care, you’re supposed to apply for (and pay for) a “pet dietician” license. If you talk about relationships, you need a “counseling license.” If you advocate self pleasure on the ‘web, you might even need a “masturbation license,” which I’m sure North Carolina’s pot-bellied government goons are experts at granting.

Under North Carolina’s interpretation of its (false) authority, virtually the entire NaturalNews website is “criminal.” Yep, when we say you should drink some green tea for its antioxidants, well that’s a crime, you see? When we say “get more vitamin D” to help prevent cancer, that’s a violation of North Carolina’s dietician rules!

Dieticians – the lowest sub-class of nutritional grunts

Dieticians, for the record, are the sub-class of processed food grunts who regurgitate government-approved nutritional DIS-information and design school lunch programs, prison food programs and hospital food programs. These are, for the record, the three worst places to get food, as nearly all the food served in these locations will leave you even more diseased than ever.

“Dieticians” are widely discredited in the world of real nutrition, and the dietician community has yet to even acknowledge any qualitative difference between DEAD foods and LIVING foods. Dieticians are all about counting calories, and they couldn’t care less where they come from. These are the morons who actually tell cancer patients to drink Ensure! (Yeah, seriously…)

I’m not sure why anyone would even want to be labeled a “dietician.” It’s sort of like being called a “retard” in grade school. Because, of course, the nutritional knowledge of dieticians is rather retarded, as in “lacking in development.” It’s basically stuck in the dietary “science” of the 1950’s, when scientists thought there were only 4 vitamins.

But instead of upping their knowledge and entering the 21st century of nutritional wisdom, these state-monopolized dietician groups want to force everybody to stay stuck in the 1950’s while harassing everyone who dares to offer modern scientific nutritional knowledge on issues like raw foods, phytonutrients, anti-cancer medicinal herbs and other similar topics.

In fact, I would submit that the “North Carolina Board of Dietetics / Nutrition” is misnamed! They’re so far behind on modern nutrition that the name itself is misleading. To be accurate, the board would have to be renamed the “North Carolina Board of Malnutrition.” Because that’s what the board teaches and enforces with its monopolistic (false) authority.

Action item: Tell the North Carolina Board of Dietetics / Nutrition to leave bloggers alone

It’s time to tell this group of malnourished morons to keep their mitts off bloggers who are practicing Free Speech. In fact, I would say that the blogger who overcame diabetes using the Paleo diet probably knows MORE about nutritional principles than the dieticians who run the NC board!

If anything, the NC board should be studying this guy’s blog and learning something useful. After all, type-2 diabetes can be cured with nutrition, but the dieticians groups never teach this simple truth. In their minds, food can never treat disease. And that’s a truly idiotic limitation under which they operate.

Better yet, why don’t they post a big article on their website that attempts to explain why their outdated, minimized “dead” dietician approach is better than the modern, cutting edge nutritional information we teach here at NaturalNews? I’d love to take part in that debate, in fact.

But as you’ll see, tyrants don’t want to debate the facts. They just want to CONTROL everybody and silence any discussion. They are all about asserting force and power rather than allowing the best intellectual ideas to rise to the top. Are Vaccines even Effective?

Some people are now saying that vaccines are not only problematic, but that the whole science behind vaccines is flawed.  Here is the contrarian article, and I will let you decide.

Vaccines have been based on medical fraud for over a hundred years

(NaturalNews) The concept of vaccinating to immunize began in 1796, when British apothecary (pharmacist) Edward Jenner inserted cowpox pus under the skin of an eight year old boy. Jenner based his experiment on an unsubstantiated rumor that anyone who had experienced cowpox would be immune to smallpox.

Over the next couple of years, Jenner vaccinated others with cowpox to immunize them against smallpox. Without any actual proof of efficacy and safety, Jenner impressed King George III enough with a bogus immunization guarantee that he was awarded the equivalent of today’s $500,000.

Thus, Jenner was the first medical professional to administer diseased matter as medication to a healthy person and receive a substantial financial award. He was also the first to constantly denounce vaccination detractors successfully. He was protecting both his ego and large public purse.

Many health professionals throughout the 19th Century knew that there had been several cases of smallpox among those with cowpox histories. Jenner’s premise was flawed.

This was actually the beginning of a tradition that is carried on by today’s vaccinators. Come up with a bogus solution to prevent a disease, make a bundle of cash, and shut down reasonable arguments from those who know immunization by vaccination doesn’t work safely or effectively.

England’s incidents of smallpox after vaccination rose steadily from five percent in the beginning to 95% by 1895. There was even a serious epidemic around 1872, one year after smallpox vaccinations were decreed mandatory in the UK. The mortality rate among smallpox victims also shot up five fold around that time.

Despite intelligent protests with obvious facts and figures disproving efficacy, and proving harm from toxic materials and viruses contained in vaccines that endanger natural immunity, the inoculation for immunization premise has been maintained.

Protecting the industry against truth by attacking reasonable dissenters viciously has resulted in vaccine industry revenue of $17 billion annually today. This doesn’t include revenue from doctors’ visits for vaccinations and resulting ill health from them.

The vaccinators’ tactics of suppressing scientific data from concerned professionals has become more mafia like. Sincere medical professionals who register health concerns over vaccines are severely punished and slandered by the medical mafia owned mainstream media.

Chelation Therapy under Attack

The more that I observe the medical system the more I come to the conclusion that the medical system is not interested in curing people.  That would mean the end of profits and careers.  Healthy people make bad customers in the medical system, while chronic patients keep on giving and giving.   Thus, the medical system is oriented towards promoting chronic illnesses, which rely on a lifetime of medical care and steady profits.  Simple, cheap and natural cures for illnesses are attacked and suppressed, because they threaten the medical establishment.  The Cancer industry has no interest in curing cancer.  Just the opposite and they fight against alternative treatments.

Removing Heavy Metals from the Body Is “Dangerous”?

Not only are doctors being advised to reject chelation therapy—they’re being asked to report on their colleagues who practice it.

The American College of Medical Toxicology held a conference at the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) this past February about the “use and misuse” of chelation therapy—a misleading title suggesting some semblance of scientific objectivity, which was nowhere in evidence. The conference was more like a Salem witch hunt in which chelators played the role of the accused witches and warlocks.

Why is chelation so threatening to mainstream medicine? There is no disputing that heavy metals are extremely toxic. The human body is engineered to remove small amounts daily, but not the large amounts we often pick up from modern sources. One of those sources has of course been vaccines, which have used mercury as a preservative (it is still used in the US flu shot). Another source has been dental “silver” amalgam, which also contains mercury. This may be part of the reason for the hostility to chelation.

How does the therapy work? One method involves injecting into the patient’s bloodstream organic chemicals, which can bind and remove the heavy metals in the bloodstream (metals which are toxic to humans and interfere with various physiological functions). There are also oral or suppository supplements for chelation, and some foods are natural chelators (e.g., cilantro and chlorella).

Chelation therapy has been used by many physicians and administered to thousands of patients since 1952. An informal survey of our readers revealed that body detoxification—whether through chelation, or through sauna or special dietary methods—is among their top ten most popular integrative therapies. The National Institutes of Health is currently studying EDTA chelation for cardiovascular disease in the TACT trial. (EDTA is used for lead and other heavy metals but not for Mercury. Other chelators are used for that.) Many people have doubted whether a US government agency could be expected to produce a fair evaluation. The jury is still out on that.

Doctors attending the conference received continuing education credits for attending and hearing all the chelation-bashing. Various topics seemed designed to highlight the dangers of chelation—while attempting to dismiss the benefits.

A look at the PowerPoint slides (available as PDFs downloadable from the conference’s website) reveal the following:

  • No hard data was presented on the supposed public health dangers of chelation—only three anecdotal case studies. Hardly a “scientific” analysis.
  • The speakers were biased—they made no attempt to represent or provide information from doctors who actually administer chelation therapy to their patients.
  • Their main basis for dismissing chelation therapy is the way lab results are interpreted. This detail, however, does not address any of the effects of the therapy itself.
  • The conference targets two “advocacy sites” for spreading “misinformation”: the American College for the Advancement of Medicine (ACAM), and the American Academy of Anti-aging Medicine (A4M)—both of which are respected organizations that represent integrative doctors. ACAM offers training and certification in chelation therapy.

Equally revealing is who else was represented at the conference, either as attendees or as panelists: the FDA and the Federation of State Medical Boards!

In the FDA’s session (“Unapproved Chelation Products Available Over the Internet”), the agency tried to conflate unapproved chelation products with the supposed dangers of dietary supplements. But “unapproved” chelation products are already illegal, and FDA is already empowered to enforce against them. Moreover, these products have nothing to do with the regulatory status of dietary supplements.

The FDA has the power to regulate interstate commerce of drugs and devices, and has used that power to clamp down on the sale of chelation products. In 2008 the agency released a Public Health Advisory on EDTA—simply because inattentive hospital personnel mixed up the medications being administered! In 2010, the FDA ordered eight companies to stop marketing over-the-counter chelation products. Our sources told us FDA was aware that many integrative doctors were doing heart-related chelation, and hoped that by blocking one particular form of EDTA, these doctors might be put out of business.

The presence of the Federation of State Medical Boards (a private organization largely controlled by the AMA) is especially troubling, as they could take this misinformation, adopt anti-chelation policies in each state, and target doctors who practice chelation therapy. In Kentucky, for example, doctors cannot discuss chelation therapy with their patients lest they face revocation of their license. Indeed, almost all Kentucky physicians who use alternative therapies have been either forced out of state or forced to desist from using alternative therapies, especially chelation therapy, because it “departs from prevailing practice in the State of Kentucky.” This is all too common, to one degree or another, in most states.

As the central federal agency for providing information on disease and public health issues, the CDC (which led a session as well as hosting the event) is in a key position to spread bias and misinformation on chelation.

We were also told that “Quackbuster” Stephen Barrett was a key participant. The Quackbusters are a group of self-proclaimed skeptics of any medical or health modality that avoids drugs, surgery, or radiation; they attack almost all nonconventional healthcare practices as quackery—regardless of the scientific research to the contrary. Two-time Nobel Prize winner Linus Pauling is on their quack hit list, along with many well-known and respected doctors and scientists, including Deepak Chopra, Andrew Weil, and dozens of others. The Quackbusters run over seventy websites, so millions of people are exposed to their propaganda.

Unfortunately, integrative physicians who practice chelation therapy fear being vocal about it lest they be targeted by their state medical boards. Let us be clear: chelation is in no way a “public health danger.” If you want a real public health danger, you need look no further than many parts of conventional medicine. Gary Null points out that mainstream medicine kills nearly 800,000 people every year through physician mistakes, hospital-related illnesses, and reactions to FDA-approved medications. That’s the equivalent of six jumbo jets falling out of the sky each day, and more than the number of American casualties in the Civil War and World War I combined.
