The Senate has once again blocked reform. This from the Consumers Union.
Thank you for supporting a real Wall Street watchdog! You showed the politicians loud and clear that consumers are fed up with business-as-usual when it comes to going after financial cheats.
Unfortunately, the Senate voted today to block the nomination of Richard Cordray to head the new Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
By a 53 to 45 vote, Senators refused to even allow his nomination to come up for a full vote (we needed 60 YES votes to allow his nomination to go forward). You can see how your Senators voted here.
