This is a very interesting documentary on how Jewish immigrants from Europe created the Hollywood film industry. It appears that the Jewish immigrants indirectly reflected their fears and aspirations via the subject matter in their productions. definitely worth watching. Hollywood movies could be seen as a Rorschach test about what was on their minds. Themes such a outsiders and misfits frequently appeared, as well as the message of integration and racial tolerance. It is amazing what a group of poor Jewish immigrants were able to do in one generation, and often against difficult odds. For the most part it appears that the Jews of Hollywood did so well in America, and came from such hardship, that they just wanted to be good Americans, fit in, be accepted and enjoy their wealth and success. They purposely avoided controversy for fear of upsetting what they had created.
