I Could Not have Said it Better

This article is just so damn good.  Government will always tend to enlarge itself, because that is what gives those who are in government more power and more public resources to throw around to buy votes and support to get elected and stay elected.

The debt ceiling fiasco: It’s not about compromise; it’s about principle

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

(NaturalNews) An armed man approaches an innocent old lady on the street, shoves his gun in her face and screams, “Give me everything you own!” The little old lady, flummoxed but determined, angrily answers back, “Screw you! I’m not giving you one red cent!” The mugger pauses for a moment and then retorts, “Well then let’s compromise. Just give me all the money you’re carrying right now and we’ll call it even!”

This is the nature of the Democrats’ “compromise” over the looming debt ceiling. Over the last three days, we’ve heard that word belligerently repeated over and over: “Compromise! Compromise! Compromise!” And yet all their compromise will really deliver to us is a compromised future where spending remains completely out of control and our children inherit total financial bankruptcy.

Some compromise, huh?

Maybe we don’t need a compromise. Maybe what we need is to stand firm on principle. In this case, I’m talking about the principle of living within your means. Taking responsibility for your spending. Honoring the taxpayers by not eroding the value of their own dollars with incessant Federal Reserve “quantitative easing” (just a code phrase for counterfeiting money and dumping it into circulation).

Standing firm on principle takes more courage than compromise

Compromise is not always the answer. If a heroin addict is at a recovery center and says to the doctor there, “I want 10 hits of heroin today” and the doctor says, “You’ll get zero,” then it’s certainly not a good idea to “compromise” with the addict by giving him five hits of heroin. When an addiction is out of control, compromise is destructive, not constructive. And America’s debt spending is, much like a heroin junky, an out-of-control addiction. We’re addicted to debt, and too many people in Washington (both Democrats and Republicans, by the way) don’t really want to quit that addiction. They just want more hits, which is the whole purpose of raising the debt ceiling.

Increased spending results in increased power, you see. The more money the government pays out to the citizens in “benefits,” the more control it has over their lives. And the more money the government spends on military spending or other projects, the more easily members of Congress can funnel taxpayer dollars into the pockets of their evil corporate campaign supporters.

No government ever wants to get smaller. It always wants to grow and expand, consuming all the resources around it like a runaway cancer tumor. It is the very nature of power to seek expansion of its own power.

What America needs right now is radical cancer surgery to remove the tumor. That tumor is made up of power-hungry bureaucrats, lawmakers, and federal officials who all want to expand their power, collect more money and leave less on the table for the taxpayers who are footing the entire bill. And right now as we watch Boehner, Obama and Reid argue over the debt ceiling, we are really watching three cancer tumor cells argue over how to divvy up the rest of the healthy tissue they’ve already infected. To expect Big Government to solve the problems caused by Big Government is to expect cancer tumors to magically and spontaneously create their own cancer cures. It’s just not gonna happen, folks. Even full-blown chemotherapy couldn’t bring down this runaway debt spending monstrosity…

The cure for cancerous government growth

The cure for Big Government can only be found in the People, not in government itself. This is why America was founded on the idea that when government becomes too oppressive, too powerful or too arrogant, it is the right and the duty of the People to seize control and bring that government back down to a reasonable size — all while reminding the government to “fear the People” (and serve the People) rather than trying to enslave the People.

That’s where this is all headed: A massive social revolt against Big Government’s ineptitude, arrogance and cancer-like tendencies. Because even if a new debt ceiling is reached by August 2nd (and it probably will be), that doesn’t change the fact that the problem of runaway debt spending still looms over us… nor the fact that the Federal Reserve is gutting our economy, looting our nation and stealing our purchasing power away from us while stuffing the pockets of rich banksters with trillions of dollars in money that actually should belong to the American people.

We have been robbed blind, my friends. We have mugged at gunpoint, essentially, by the Fed, Big Government and the incompetent fools (criminals?) in Washington who claim to be working on your behalf while laughing their way down the halls of the Capitol building. They are crooks who make the crimes of Richard Nixon pale in comparison.

Real change may still be possible

There’s only one member of Congress today who has the vision, the integrity, and the understanding of economics and the money supply to steer us away from the massive financial catastrophe that lays ahead, and his name is Ron Paul. Only Ron Paul gives us even a chance of making it through this financial challenge without a total collapse, and even Paul himself will admit it may already be too late regardless of who is in the White House.

Support Ron Paul at — or get ready for a total financial blowout that will leave most Americans penniless and rioting in the streets.

It’s coming, folks. The incompetence in Washington has potentially reached a point of no return. The thieving Federal Reserve criminals and Wall Street banksters have stolen your wealth without you even knowing it. The end of the dollar approaches. The end of America as we know it won’t be far behind. Today we stand on the verge of financial doom, and all the Democrats can demand is that we “compromise” yet again.

It’s time to end the compromises. It’s time to stand for principle — to stand up against runaway debt spending, against the criminal money creation of the Fed, and against the crooks and cowards who claim to be “leading” America today. I say it’s time for a real leader who stands firm on principle — a man like Rep. Ron Paul. I personally endorse Ron Paul as the only Presidential candidate who stands on principle. He is perhaps the last true leader left in Washington, and he needs your support.

List of Ingredients You Should Avoid

July 31, 2011

What’s really in the food? The A to Z of the food industry’s most evil ingredients

by Mike Adams, the Health Ranger, NaturalNews Editor

(NaturalNews) Ever wonder what’s really in the food sold at grocery stores around the world? People keep asking me, “What ingredients should I avoid?” So I put together a short list that covers all the most toxic and disease-promoting ingredients in the food supply. These are the substances causing cancer, diabetes, heart disease and leading to tens of billions of dollars in unnecessary health care costs across America (and around the world).

If you want to stay healthy and out of the hospital, read ingredients labels and make sure you avoid all these ingredients:

Acrylamides – Toxic, cancer-causing chemicals formed in foods when carbohydrates are exposed to high heat (baking, frying, grilling). They’re present in everything from bread crusts to snack chips, and because they aren’t intentional ingredients, acrylamides do NOT have to be listed on labels.

Aspartame – Chemical sweetener that causes neurological disorders, seizures, blurred vision and migraine headaches. (…)

Autolyzed Proteins – Highly processed form of protein containing free glutamate and used to mimic the taste-enhancer chemical MSG.

BPA (Bisphenol-A) – A hormone mimicking chemical found in nearly all food packaging plastics. Active in just parts per billion, BPA promotes cancer, infertility and hormone disorders. It also “feminizes” males, promoting male breast growth and hormone disruption (…).

Casein – Milk proteins. Hilariously, this is widely used in “soy cheese” products that claim to be alternatives to cow’s milk. Nearly all of them are made with cow’s milk proteins.

Corn Syrup – Just another name for High Fructose Corn Syrup (see below). Frequently used in infant formula products (…).

Food Colors – FD&C Red #40, for example, is linked to behavioral disorders in children. Nearly all artificial food colors are derived from petroleum, and many are contaminated with aluminum.

Genetically Modified Ingredients – Not currently listed on the label because the GMO industry (Monsanto and DuPont) absolutely does not want people to know which foods contain GMOs. Nearly all conventionally grown corn, soy and cotton are GMOs. They’re linked to severe infertility problems and may even cause the bacteria in your body to produce and release a pesticide in your own gut. If you’re not eating organic corn, you’re definitely eating GMO corn. (…) Learn more at or watch my GMO music video (hilarious) at

High Fructose Corn Syrup – A highly processed liquid sugar extracted with the chemical solvent glutaraldehyde and frequently contaminated with mercury (…). It’s also linked to diabetes, obesity and mood disorders. Used in thousands of grocery items, including things you wouldn’t suspect like pizza sauce and salad dressings.

Homogenized Milk – The fats in the milk are artificially modified to change them into smaller molecules that stay in suspension in the milk liquid (so the milk fat doesn’t separate) (…). While it makes milk look better on the shelf, it’s also blamed for promoting heart disease and may contribute to milk allergies. Raw milk is healthier, which is why the government had outlawed it (…).

Hydrochloride – When you see anything hydrochloride, such as Pyridoxine Hydrochloride or Thiamin Hydrochloride, those are chemical forms of B vitamins that companies add to their products to be able to claim higher RDA values of vitamins. But these are synthetic, chemical forms of vitamins, not real vitamins from foods or plants. Nutritionally, they are near-useless and may actually be bad for you. Also watch out for niacinamide and cyanocobalamin (synthetic vitamin B-12). (…)

Hydrolyzed Vegetable Protein – A highly processed form of (usually) soy protein that’s processed to bring out the free glutamate (MSG). Use as a taste enhancer.

Partially Hydrogenated Oils – Oils that are modified using a chemical catalyst to make them stable at room temperature. This creates trans fatty acids and greatly increases the risk of blocked arteries (…). It also promotes what I call “sludge blood,” which is thick, viscous blood that’s hard to pump. This is usually diagnosed by doctors as “high blood pressure” and (stupidly) treated with blood-thinning medications that are technically the same chemicals as rat poison (warfarin) (…).

Phosphoric Acid – The acid used in sodas to dissolve the carbon dioxide and add to the overall fizzy-ness of the soda. Phosphoric acid will eat steel nails. It’s also used by stone masons to etch rocks. The military uses it to clean the rust off battleships. In absolutely destroys tooth enamel ( Search Google Images for “Mountain Dew Mouth” to see photos of teeth rotted out by phosphoric acid:…

Propylene Glycol – A liquid used in the automotive industry to winterize RVs. It’s also used to make the fake blueberries you see in blueberry muffins, bagels and breads. (Combined with artificial colors and corn syrup.) See shocking “Fake Blueberries” video at:…

Sodium (Salt) – The processed white salt lacking in trace minerals. In the holistic nutrition industry, we call it “death salt” because it promotes disease and death. Real salt, on the other hand, such as “dirty” sea salt or pink Himalayan salt, is loaded with the trace minerals that prevent disease, such as selenium (cancer), chromium (diabetes) and zinc (infectious disease). Much like with bread and sugar, white salt is terrible for your health. And don’t be fooled by claims of “sea salt” in grocery stores. All salt came from the sea if you go far back enough in geologic time, so they can slap the “sea salt” claim on ANY salt!

Sodium Nitrite – A cancer-causing red coloring chemical added to bacon, hot dogs, sausage, beef jerky, ham, lunch meats, pepperoni and nearly all processed meats. Strongly linked to brain tumors, pancreatic cancers and colon cancers ( The USDA once tried to ban it from the food supply but was out-maneuvered by the meat industry, which now dominates USDA regulations. Sodium nitrite is a complete poison used to make meats look fresh. Countless children die of cancer each year from sodium nitrite-induced cancers.

Soy Protein – The No. 1 protein source used in “protein bars,” including many bars widely consumed by bodybuilders. Soy protein is the “junk protein” of the food industry. It’s made from genetically modified soybeans (often grown in China) and then subjected to hexane, a chemical solvent (…) that can literally explode.

Sucralose – An artificial chemical sweetener sold as Splenda. The sucralose molecule contains a chlorine atom (…). Researchers have repeatedly found that artificial sweeteners make people fat by actually promoting weight gain (…).

Sugar – The bleached, nutritionally-deficient byproduct of cane processing. During sugar cane processing, nearly all the minerals and vitamins end up in the blackstrap molasses that’s usually fed to farm animals. (Blackstrap molasses is actually the “good” part of sugar cane juice.) Molasses is often fed to farm animals because every rancher knows that farm animals need good nutrition to stay alive. Amazingly, conventional doctors don’t yet realize this about humans, and they continue to claim that eating sugar is perfectly fine for you. Sugar promotes diabetes, obesity, mood disorders and nutritional deficiencies.

Textured Vegetable Protein – Usually made of soy protein which is extracted from genetically modified soybeans and then processed using hexane, an explosive chemical solvent (see Soy Protein, above). Widely used in vegetarian foods such as “veggie burgers” (most of which also contain MSG or Yeast Extract, by the way).

Yeast Extract – Hidden form of MSG that contains free glutamate and is used in many “natural” food products to claim “No MSG!” Yeast extract contains up to 14% free glutamate. You’ll find it in thousands of grocery store products, from soups to snack chips. I even once spotted it used on fresh meat!

Food label tricks

Here’s a trick food companies frequently used to pack more sugar into their products without making sugar look like the first ingredient:

Ingredient labels, you see, must list the most prominent ingredients first, and some consumers might freak out of they saw a box of cereal that said, “Sugar, whole grain wheat, corn” and so on. Instead, the company uses 3 or 4 different forms of sugar to distribute them farther down the label, like this:

“Whole grain wheat, sugar, corn syrup, corn syrup solids…”

This way, the first ingredients looks like “whole grain wheat” when, in reality, the cereal might be over fifty percent sugars!

How to buy honest food

• Shop are your local farmer’s market, food co-op or CSA.

• In the USA, look for the USDA Organic label on foods. This is a legitimate claim to being certified organic. It’s one of the few programs run by the USDA that actually has integrity.

• Read the ingredients labels! If you see names of chemicals you can’t pronounce, don’t buy it.

• Buy more unprocessed food ingredients and make your own meals rather than buying ready-to-eat, processed foods, which are almost universally formulated with disease-promoting ingredients.

The Duct Tape Wart Removal Treatment

Another Great Use For Duct Tape – Wart Removal

Another Great Use For Duct Tape – Wart Removal

Did you know that there is a home remedy for wart removal? It involves every handy man’s essential tool, duct tape; it has been found to be more effective in treating warts than cryotherapy — and way less painful. Putting duct tape over warts, is not only easy but inexpensive.

When news giant CBS covered the duct tape wart removal phenomenon on their web blog Healthwatch, they did an excellent job of summarizing the various studies done on the duct tape method so far, including one published in the Archives of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine:

85% of Patients Saw Their Warts Disappear

In the study, patients wore duct tape over their warts for 6 days. Then they removed the tape, soaked the area in water and used an emery board or pumice stone to scrape the spot. The tape was reapplied the next morning.

The treatment was continued for 2 months, or until the wart went away. Of the 26 patients treated with duct tape, 85% were successfully rid of their warts.

Compare that to the 40% of patients who suffered through rounds of cryotherapy (the painful application of liquid nitrogen to the afflicted areas) only to find that, after the study was over, their warts had persisted.

What the Experts Say About Wart Removal

According to Dr. Dean “Rick” Focht III — one of the researchers on this study — duct tape works by irritating the warts, which jumpstarts your immune system to attack the foreign growths.

In his interview with CBS, Dr. Focht theorized if the duct tape works through irritation — and since no other tapes were tested — it’s possible that there’s nothing about the “grey, heavy-duty, fabric-backed” material of the tape in particular that makes it so effective.

But when a study was done among older adults, duct tape was effective in removing warts only 21% of the time, no more effective than a cotton-tape bandage. When the study was completed, however, the researchers learned that the clear variety of duct tape contains no rubber, like the traditional tape used in the first study.

This detail points back to the question of whether the cure is in fact dependent on the good old-fashioned silver duct tape wart removal.

Dr. Rachel Wenner of the University of Minnesota says, “theoretically, the rubber adhesive could somehow stimulate the immune system or irritate the skin in a different manner.”

Science Meets Common Sense

Duct tape’s ability for wart removal is backed as much by common sense as by science. Warts require air to survive. When constantly wrapped in duct tape, they are unable to get it. Essentially, covering your warts in duct tape is equivalent to suffocating the annoying growths.

The treatment has incited a lot of skepticism because it does, after all, sound a little far-fetched. But listen to what one previous doubter had to say about what happened when he used duct tape to treat his 8-year-old son’s plantar wart:

“This business of treating warts in children with duct tape… I’ve never really believed in it… Then my 8-year-old developed quite an impressive toe wart… It bugged him, but there was absolutely no way he was going to have it incinerated or freeze-burned… So, we tried the weird duct tape treatment… Over the next few days, when we reapplied the tape, the wart started to look sickly [then, after a few more days] my son proudly displayed [the] crater where the wart had been. It had fallen off.”

When faced with results like that, even skeptics have to admit that duct tape has a considerable degree of efficacy. And since it’s inexpensive, easy, and safe, it may just be something you’ll want to keep on hand in your first aid kit.

Corporate America Hints at Stealth Stagflation

Friday, July 22, 2011 07:55 AM

By: Andrew Packer

The bookstore chain Borders is closing its remaining 399 stores as it proceeds through bankruptcy, throwing thousands out of work.

That’s not all. In the past few days, Cisco and Lockheed Martin have announced plans to lay off thousands of workers. If the debt ceiling isn’t raised, government furloughs could also add to unemployment numbers, likely sending the official rate beyond 10 percent.

This is occurring when we need to create over a quarter million jobs per month for the next five years just to get back to the historical “average” rate of unemployment.

While the job market is taking a turn for the worse, other recent business developments reveal the effect of money-printing mayhem on the economy.

Consider Netflix, which announced pricing and product changes a few weeks back. Customers now have to pony up to enjoy both streaming content and mailed DVDs, or drop one for the other.

Elsewhere, burrito-chain Chipotle announced that rising food prices are cutting into its earnings. The chain stated that 80 percent of its restaurants will raise prices by the end of the year, if not sooner.

When two companies reporting rapid growth and have shares trading at all-time highs warn that the party won’t last, investors should take note.

Rising prices and rising unemployment are a sign of a broken monetary and political system. This is akin to the stagflation of the 1970’s, when low growth and robust inflation led many to wonder if economic growth was even possible again.

But this time around most businesses aren’t drinking the Kool-Aid. It’s no surprise that as politicians bicker over the debt ceiling and as central bankers decide how much and when to print more money, companies are sitting on record piles of cash.

In fact, 29 companies have more cash on hand at the moment than the U.S. Treasury! Perhaps our elected officials can learn a lesson from the private sector.

As for individuals, fighting stagflation comes in a different form. First and foremost should be the protection of one’s job. Learning new skills and staying nimble in exceeding the expectations of management are a must. For rising prices, consider stockpiling durable goods at today’s prices.

If inflation is hitting 10 percent, as some estimate using old methods of calculating CPI, then stockpiling useful goods today for use a year down the line is the equivalent of giving yourself a 10 percent return. This includes things like paper towels, razor blades, clothing, and some foodstuffs.

For a more traditional investment, buy shares in companies that can raise their prices with inflation.

The message being sent by corporations right now is to avoid risk and be prepared for the unexpected. It would be wise to heed their call.
