Jamie Olliver´s Food Revolution

If you get a chance you should check out Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution. He is doing the elusive obvious, pointing out to the public just how terrible and unhealthy our federally mandated school lunches are, and he is demanding change so that kids have a chance to get decent meals at school. we as a nation are constantly obsessing about trying to improve the quality of our educational system, and we spend enormous sums of money doing so. And yet until now it apparently never occurred the vast majority of politicians, school officials and the media that our extremely unhealthy USDA mandated meals in schools are directly contributing to most of our current epidemic of health problems: obesity, heart disease, learning disabilities and diabetes, etc.for a society that is so concerned trying to save our educational system, the mainstream has been curiously silent on this glaring deficiency. Of course there have been people on the margins who have been talking about this for years, but Jamie Oliver is the first high-profile person who is really making a stink about the issue and getting people involved through the mainstream media. I wish them the best, and so far he has done better than I think many of us originally thought he would.

I think Jamie is doing a great job of creating awareness. I must say I am surprised at the amount of resistance he experiences.
